A WhatsApp profile checker is a tool that, given a phone number, tries to show information attached to the WhatsApp account behind it. Depending on the tool, that can mean whether the number is registered, whether it is a WhatsApp Business account and, where the person’s privacy settings allow it, a public profile photo.
This guide explains what such tools can realistically return, why the answer is often “nothing”, and how to use the safe part of the idea, a registration check on your own opted-in list, without crossing privacy lines.
What a profile checker can and cannot return
| Item | Usually possible? | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Is the number registered on WhatsApp? | Yes | This is the core signal of any checker. |
| WhatsApp Business account flag | Sometimes | Offered by some tools where the data is available. |
| Profile photo | Sometimes | Only if the person’s privacy setting makes it visible, and availability varies by tool. |
| About text / status | Rarely | Controlled by the person’s privacy settings. |
| Last seen / online | No | Shown only according to the person’s privacy settings. |
| Name or identity of the owner | No | A responsible checker does not identify people. |
WhatsApp lets each person decide who can see their profile photo, About and last seen. By default some of these are visible to everyone and others only to contacts, and users can change them at any time. A missing photo therefore proves nothing: the account may be active with the photo restricted.
Why a registration check matters more than a profile peek
If you hold a customer list, the useful question is rarely “what does this person’s profile look like?”. It is “can I reach this person on WhatsApp at all?”. A registration check answers that for thousands of numbers at once and does not need anyone’s photo or personal details. Teams use it to keep opted-in lists clean before sending order updates, reminders or support messages.
How to use a profile or registration checker responsibly
- Use it only on numbers you already hold with consent. Do not use it to look up strangers, ex-partners or competitors’ staff.
- Do not store profile photos you do not need. A photo of a person is personal data under laws like GDPR and LGPD.
- Do not treat a missing photo or status as “inactive”. It is usually a privacy setting.
- Honour opt-outs. If someone asked you to stop, a checker result does not change that.

Can I see someone’s WhatsApp DP by number?
Only if their privacy settings expose it, and tools differ in what they can return. Do not rely on it, and do not use it to track people.
Can I check a WhatsApp Business account?
Some tools flag Business accounts. Check what your tool of choice returns before you build a process on it.
Will the person know I checked?
Registration checks by a bulk tool do not send a message to the number. WaleadGoal is a checker, not a sender.
What WaleadGoal offers for this
According to its User Guide, WaleadGoal has three service types. Number services return an active (valid) list and an inactive (invalid) list. Senior / Active services add optional filters (gender, age range and active days) and return the active list together with profile data such as age, gender and photo, as an Excel file with pictures, a Photo Report and a profile CSV. Email services return valid and invalid emails.
Use the profile-data services only on lists you hold with valid opt-in, and only for the purpose the person agreed to. Profile photos and age are personal data, so do not keep them longer than you need and do not use them to track or identify people. Exactly which fields come back depends on the service and on each person’s privacy settings, so open the service card in your dashboard after you register for free to see what it returns.
What WaleadGoal does (and does not do)
WaleadGoal is a consent-based number filter and checker. You register for free, add credits (a 10,000-number pack starts from $5; 50K and 100K packs are available inside Add Balance and cost less per number), upload a list you already have permission to contact, and see which numbers are live. Credits are per service, so WhatsApp credits are used for the WhatsApp filter and other checkers have their own balance. It is a checker, not a sender: you do not need the WhatsApp Business API, and you message your opted-in contacts with your own tools afterwards.
It does not sell or supply contacts, it does not scrape, and it does not promise 100% accuracy. Spam and unsolicited messaging are banned and you stay responsible for valid opt-in on every number you upload. See the User Guide for the exact steps, or go back to the homepage for current prices.
